Deuteronomy 23:19-20 (CEV) When you lend money, food, or anything else to another Israelite, you are not allowed to charge interest. You can charge a foreigner interest. But if you charge other Israelites interest, the LORD your God will not let you be successful in the land you are about to take.

He fathered a child but hasn't a cent left to give him. He arrived naked from the womb of his mother; he'll leave in the same condition—with nothing.
Ezekiel 18:8 (CEV) He never cheats or robs anyone and always returns anything taken as security for a loan; he gives food and clothes to the poor and doesn't charge interest when lending money. Romans 13:8 (NIV) Don't run up debts, except for the huge debt of love you owe each other.
