Goals add substance to your heart's desire. Most of us can daydream about what God could do with our lives. Its fun, not just to imagine, but to set goals and start asking.
Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us... Eph 3:20
I'm asking, "Lord please don't let me just write a book about Kings - I want to be one too!" Here's my goal Lord, "live on 10%."
RG LeTourneau was involved in construction, and was an innovator of many earth moving machines (one is called "the LeTourneau"... used to build many of the highways you presently drive on. The Lord blessed RG to the extent that he lived on 10% of his income and sowed 90% back into expanding the Kingdom. This week I've adopted that as one of my goals - and I really am on a track to see it happen.
Our Father has a peculiar trait. He doesn't just meet our needs he overflows the cup. Imagine holding out your cup... the Holy Spirit is filling it watching the Father's eye. The cup starts out empty (our needs aren't met) and the Father says pour. Now the cup is near the top (our needs are met)... The Holy Spirit keeps pouring - there's no signal from the Father to stop. We look dismayed... coffee is spilling on the table... the Holy Spirit keeps pouring - there's no signal from the Father to stop. Now the coffee is running down the table cloth and on to the floor... the Holy Spirit keeps pouring. Get the picture. God's definition of "enough" is always "too much." When you ask for coffee there may be enough to feed 5000.
Our Need has nothing to do with God's abundance. Its nothing for God to exceed my definition of abundance 10 fold. So one of these days I'll write telling how all of my needs are met, no longer even close to living paycheck-to-paycheck. Every month there's 9 other parts to use expanding the Kingdom. Want to know a secret? I didn't invent this goal... I didn't even steal from RG LeTourneau or his son Roy... It's God's plan for Kings - always has been. He's looking for people that he can empower to expand the Kingdom - Kings. Make it your goal too!
