A faithful Christian starting out in business earned £50,000 in his first year. He gladly gave a £5,000 tithe to his local church that year. He felt blessed of God and rejoiced in God's goodness. Over the next few years, the business boomed and God was clearly answering the man's prayers.
Just three years later the man found himself earning a slary of £500,000.
But the man was developing great problems which he had to discuss with his Pastor. "When my tithe was just £5,000 a year it wasn't a problem", started the businessman, "but now I'm earning half a million, my tithe works out at £50,000 and that's such a seriously big sum of money. When I look at the vastness of that amount, I just can't bring myself to give it all away".
"Okay," the Pastor replied knowingly, "I'm going to pray a prayer that I know will bring a solution." The prayer went like this: "God, grant your servant a salary that he can be obedient with."
