The WisdomOnWealth core team members are:
Rob Brown, 44, was brought up as a Catholic in the UK, but never bought into the reality of the Christian faith. He was confirmed at 13, but the many ‘man-made’ elements of religion turned him away from God. It wasn’t until he found himself living in evangelist Billy Graham’s USA hometown of Charlotte, North Carolina, at the age of 31, that he began to reconnect with God. Rob had many questions, and it took three Baptist evangelists and his good Christian friend Eric to help Rob make the commitment to Jesus Christ. He accepted Christ as Lord and Saviour on a cold dark evening of October 10th 1996, and was baptised some days later. Rob immediately returned to England and continued teaching Mathematics in secondary schools until 2000, when he left for a sales role at healthcare organisation BUPA. An entrepreneurial spirit, Rob has been working for himself since that time, and has established himself as one of the UK’s leading experts in relationship and reputation marketing. He runs a successful marketing company (www.rob-brown.com) and other business concerns in property, music, internet marketing and, of course, Christian finances. Rob and his wife Amanda have a heart for giving; their life’s mission is to give £1million to good, godly causes.
Alistair Kent, 38, has spent most his working life in the advertising and marketing industry, starting out as an Account Manager and finishing up as a Graphic Designer. At the age of 21 he gave his life to the Lord in a healing meeting at a local church. Alistair faithfully attended that same Pentecostal church for the next 14 years of his life, ending up as a fully trained Assemblies of God minister in the position of Assistant Pastor. More recently, God specifically called him out of that fellowship and he and his wife, Kate, are serving in another church in preparation for planting their own relevant, Twenty-First century local church. In this transition period Alistair has also founded a business that enables local churches to get a world-class websites at an affordable price (www.yourchurchontheweb.com). Alistair and Kate have two children, Chloe and Caleb. In early 2006, Ali started chatting with Rob Brown, and found that they shared a vision. Both wanted to see local churches adequately resourced to fulfil all God has called them to do in reaching the needy and lost people of our world. Out of this conversation was birthed WisdomOnWealth.
Kate Kent, 37, became a Christian when she was just eight years old, in a Methodist church (although from the ages of 8-16 she attended a number of different denominations, including Church of Scotland and Baptist), but was tempted away by the world at 16. At 24, God brought her back to himself through an Assemblies of God (Pentecostal) Church. Having re-committed her life to Christ, she was engaged within three months to Alistair and they married in 1996. Kate took a career break after working as a Criminal Intelligence Analyst and then in insurance as a Loss Adjuster. She is now back at work full time with Rob Brown. Having gained two degrees (BA Hons Business and Msc Criminology and Criminal Justice) and various other qualifications (such as in Pastoral Care, Counselling and a Certificate in Twenty-First Century Church Leadership from Mattersey Hall Bible College), Kate’s goal is to become a fully-fledged minister. Kate’s greatest passion is preaching and her favourite topic, appropriately, is on ‘giving’.
